Launching Galaxy XR
After joining Samsung, contributed to a wide range of projects spanning mobile accessories and wearable technologies. Played a key role in the Galaxy XR program from its earliest concept phase, leading the product design from initial planning through final industrial design, including the development of key peripherals. Following more than four years of cross-functional collaboration, the Galaxy XR product was successfully launched.

Relumino Glass won IDEA and iF award 2020
Co-developed "Relumino Glass", an assistive device for people with visual impairments, through more than two years of collaboration with Samsung's C-Lab team. Following recognition with both the iF Design Award and the IDEA Award, the product was further refined through extensive user testing involving the deployment of 100 devices.

Come back to Seoul, Start working at Samsung Electronics
Experience gained after graduating from the Royal College of Art spanned the UK and the US, offering exposure to diverse product categories and design processes across furniture, lighting, and design consultancy. Returning to Korea to join Samsung Electronics marked the next step in applying a global design perspective to large-scale consumer technology.

Giroptic IO won IDEA Bronze award
Collaborating with a talented team of designers at Lunar Design led to the successful launch of Giroptic IO, the first consumer product of this design consultancy journey. The project was subsequently recognized with the IDEA Bronze Award, marking an important first milestone in professional design consulting

Experience spans furniture and lighting design at Tom Dixon Studio and Max Lamb Studio in the UK, followed by industrial design practice at Lunar Design in San Francisco. Delivered consumer electronics and cross-category product design solutions for a diverse portfolio of global clients.

From the UK to US
Working across B2C furniture, lighting, and bespoke commissions alongside Tom Dixon's internal design and engineering teams provided a strong foundation in product development. The experience ultimately led to a bold decision to cross continents in search of new perspectives and greater design opportunities. Everyone in Tom Dixon gave warm regards and farewell messages. Joined the internationally renowned furniture brand Tom Dixon as a freelance designer, collaborating closely with the interior design and mechanical engineering teams to develop and bring to production a wide range of commercial furniture, lighting products, and bespoke furniture projects.

Working with UVA
Worked as an Industrial Designer at United Visual Artists (UVA), a London-based installation art studio, designing a wide range of projects spanning from lighting installations to large-scale architectural facades. Contributed to both the overall installation concepts and the design of internal components, with several projects successfully installed and publicly exhibited.

Show RCA 2014
Exhibited a collection of three seating designs at "Show RCA 2014," the Royal College of Art's graduate exhibition. Developed in collaboration with London's remaining local industries, each piece explored a distinct manufacturing process and examined how specific production methods can be optimally applied to different seating typologies.

Work in Progress show RCA 2013
As a Master's candidate in Design Products (Platform 15) at the Royal College of Art, Taehun Ko explored the material potential of charcoal through experimental processes. Plants and wood were transformed into charcoal and combined with flour-based binders to create a new composite material. The project challenged conventional views of charcoal by examining its structural and aesthetic qualities, proposing its use in contemporary product and furniture design.

Starting master's degree at Royal College of Art
Taehun Ko began his Master's in Design Products at the Royal College of Art in London to deepen his understanding of product design and expand his creative practice. Born in South Korea, he developed an early interest in industrial design and sought a more challenging and experimental learning environment. He moved to London to engage with a diverse creative community, where he refined his design approach through material exploration and collaboration.

Presenting furniture collection at Seoul Design Festival 2011
The Furniture Collection 2012 was presented in Seoul, featuring a diverse range of pieces designed and fabricated through local workshops and manufacturing resources across the city. From the Diabolic Chair to the Verrine Light, the collection showcased a broad exploration of furniture and lighting design, highlighting different approaches to form, material, and production. The exhibition was held at COEX Exhibition Hall B in Seoul, where the collection was presented to a wide public audience.
