I'M HOME

"I'm home lamp" considers the process of hanging clothes on the hanger and turning on the light after going out and returning home. We often hang our clothes on the hanger or leave them on the chair after back home. We then often turn either the floor light or built-in light on. "I'm home" compresses such processes into one. It is a design that realises behaviour correlation, by making the act of grasping and pulling clothes on the hanger also work as a switch for the lighting.

self-initiated project

This projects started with an inspiration of human behaviours. Naturally, we put out stuffs including clothes when we come back from outside. At night, the first thing we need to do is turning the light on. This lamp hanger is not only simply combined two products, but also provide better user experience by connecting natural human behaviours and needs. One of hanger rod functions as a light switch, which is turning on by the pressure. When you need to turn off, simply you can click it one more time. This mechanism is really simple and internally placed inside of the wooden dowel. After coming back home from work or somewhere else, you would be happy if somebody welcomes you. "I'm home lamp-hanger", an artistic objet, will be the somebody and welcome you with warmness.
