BALLOON FLASH

For hikers or mountaineers, reducing volume or weight of backpacks is one of the primary things to consider. Especially to those who prefer night activities, reducing volume or weight is as important as carrying both a lantern and a flashlight. Balloon flashlight combines two different gears together and brings weight and space reduction effects. Furthermore, Balloon flashlight provides a solution to the outdoor mobility that takes the silicon balloon as a role of a shade with one light source.

The overall shape of the medium was based on a flashlight for easy carrying purpose and there should be a shade so that it can convert from direct shooting light to the diffusion of light. During ideation and development stage, Taehun Ko mainly focused on reducing the size and weight of burden. According to this reason, he tried to discover proper solution, and it was the silicon balloon and inflation of this medium. Deflated balloon shade mounted inside the body and mixed silicon material was adopted for durability. It simply allows user to unlock and pump the bottom to inflate air. Pumping Balloon flashlight, as setting up a tent or making fire, can bring essential joy of camping. Simple mechanism also facilitates its use as well. Unscrewing the LED-area makes the silicon balloon exposed and the bottom unlocked. Turn the bottom and inflate air into the balloon to use it as a lantern. Deflate it by twisting its body to one direction.
